This week, as part of our first #HerdingThroughUncertainties case, PASTRES looks at how the lives of pastoralists in Southern Tunisia offer lessons for how to share both wealth and risks.
Embracing uncertainty has become increasingly essential to all of us over the past year. Pastoralists live on the frontlines of a turbulent and unpredictable world. “Dramatic changes in the environmental, governance and financial domains have reconfigured and diversified the uncertainties embedding local livelihoods and their related stresses, shocks, and opportunities.” Read Michele Nori’s excellent working paper exploring five principles that pastoralists use to make a reliable living, and learn about how they might be of interest to the wider public.
2021 is going to be an important year for debating international affairs, livestock, climate change and biodiversity. Learn how PASTRES will develop a continuing series of contributions analysing the complex relationship between livestock production and climate change (link in BIO).
